DEPARTMENT: STUDENT LIFE/CAMPUS RECREATION

JOB TITLE: Intramural Sport Official 

REPORTS TO: The position reports to the Funkhouser Center Manager

These positions involve an elevated scope of responsibility and accountability.   

Intramural Student Manager: This position requires weekly planning sessions and is approximately 10+ hours per week depending on the sport schedule and includes primarily afternoons, evenings and occasional weekend coverage.  This position reports the Funkhouser Center Manager. 

This position is responsible for running the Intramural program.  Responsibilities include, developing training modules and leading training sessions, offering feedback for officials, management of team registrations, communicating with team captains, tracking participation, game supervision, cite management, developing marketing materials, venue set up and tear down, reserving spaces for events, scheduling student officials, upholding employee expectations, and a variety of other tasks.

This position requires a high degree of assertiveness and confidence to interact with other staff and patrons and the ability to enforce Campus Recreation rules consistently.  Hours are generally late afternoon, evenings with occasional weekend coverage. 

 

Funkhouser Center Student Manager: This position requires weekly planning sessions and is approximately 10+ hours per week depending on program needs. This position reports the Funkhouser Center Manager. 

This position includes; performing weekly safety and cleanliness checks for the Funkhouser Center and Link Fitness Center facilities and equipment, developing and presenting staff training modules, providing additional coverage in the Funkhouser Center, mentoring new staff, assisting with program development and other tasks as needed.

This position requires a high degree of assertiveness and confidence to interact with other staff and patrons and the ability to enforce Campus Recreation rules consistently.  Morning and mid-day availability is preferred however some hours will take place in the evenings and occasional weekends.
