Student Content Creator
The Office of Marketing & Communications (OMC) is seeking a creative, outgoing student to serve as a Student Content Creator. In this role, you'll help tell the Bridgewater College story by creating authentic, engaging short-form videos that highlight student life, academics, campus traditions and the overall BC experience. If you enjoy creating content for Instagram or TikTok, have an eye for storytelling and love being involved on campus, we'd love to hear from you. This flexible student employment opportunity allows you to build your portfolio while working around your academic schedule.
Responsibilities
- Create engaging short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
- Capture authentic moments that showcase student life, academics, clubs and campus events.
- Participate in recurring video series, such as "Day in the Life," "Why I Chose BC," or other student-focused features.
- Brainstorm and pitch content ideas during planning meetings.
- Film and edit videos using a smartphone and basic editing apps.
- Conduct informal interviews with students, faculty and staff.
- Attend select campus events to capture photos and video.
- Work collaboratively with OMC to ensure content aligns with the College's brand and communication goals.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Current Bridgewater College student in good academic standing.
- Comfortable appearing on camera and interviewing others.
- Active user of Instagram or TikTok with an interest in creating engaging social media content.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills.
- Reliable, organized and able to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic video editing experience (CapCut, Adobe Express, Canva, Premiere Rush or similar).
- Creative eye for photography and video composition.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Marketing or communication majors are welcome but not required. Students from all majors are encouraged to apply.
Hours
- Approximately 10-15 hours per week with a flexible schedule built around your class commitments.
- Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
- The starting rate is $12.00/hr.
Training Provided
Student Content Creators will receive training on:
- Bridgewater College brand standards
- Social media best practices
- Accessibility and captioning
- Copyright and music guidelines
