Audio Visual Tech Intern

2021 Summer Audio/Visual Tech Internship Announcement

With support from the Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP), the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) hosts the Gains in the Education of Mathematics and Science (GEMS) program. WRAIR GEMS usually invites middle and high school students to work with college-age mentors in a professional laboratory environment. Due to the pandemic, mentors will instead guide students through activities via a combination of pre-recorded and livestream videos. We are currently seeking undergraduate and upper-level high school students with audio/visual experience to help create and edit educational videos.

●    support undergraduates and high school students in a STEM education internship.
● bring experiential learning and mentorship to middle and high school students

We provide competitive monthly stipends commensurate with education and experience.
As a member of our team, you will:
●    Serve as an expert in video creation and editing.
●  Record/edit/caption laboratory activities or other educational and informational videos.
●    Present your work at an in-house STEM symposium for peers, guests, and WRAIR scientists.

The ideal candidate is/has:
● Passionate about STEM, communication, education, and/or video production and editing.
●    Previous experience with videography and/or video editing.
●    Flexible and able to work well within a team.
●  Previous experience with teaching and/or laboratory-based research (preferred but not required).

Requirements:
●    Available from approximately 14 June through 13 August 2021.
●    United States citizen or permanent resident.
