Do you like working in a fitness center or helping your peers find enjoyable ways to be active? Do you like to challenge yourself? Would you like to be part of a team of student staff? If so, a position in Campus Recreation might be for you. This position involves a high level of maturity and responsibility as well as being able do self-initiated tasks and enforce Campus Rec/Funkhouser Center rules.
Campus Recreation is student run. Team members are expected to work well with their teammates and peers as well as take ownership in the program.
*Morning and/or weekend availability is required
REPORTS TO: Funkhouser Center Student Manager and Campus Recreation Manager
Tasks:
- Monitor patrons throughout the facility for safety and risk management
- Provide excellent customer service
- Conduct facility and equipment safety checks and cleaning
- Demonstrate equipment set up to patrons
- Enforce rules
- Respond in an emergency situation
- Assist with Campus Recreation other events and programs
- Complete tasks and other duties as assigned including tabling events, program administration, etc
- Complete employee training modules in a timely fashion.
Requirements:
- Current CPR/AED certification (free certification classes are offered to employees who need certification)
- Ability to work independently and focus on the tasks at hand
- Ability to take ownership of the facility, programs and events and perform accordingly
- Responsible to arrive on time and uphold employee expectations
- Ability to speak up and interact with patrons confidently
- Assertiveness to enforce rules.
- Knowledge of and experience with fitness equipment and/or working in a fitness facility is preferred.
- Dedication to be a team player.
